The African Shirt Company at African Fashion Week London

African Fashion Week London took place last weekend at Covent Garden. The all day event showcased African music and fashion.
One of the designers taking part on the day was The African Shirt Company
An amazing project set up by Joan based in London and Lindi based in Kenya. These two talented ladies are behind the colourful and unique African shirts that you see in todays post. The shirts are made in Kenya from traditional kanga fabric, by local women that have been trained by The African Shirt Company.
There are only ever a few shirts made in each design so you are guaranteed a unique piece for your wardrobe. And the project is helping to employ local people in Kenya whilst also contributing to reforestation of the area. To learn more about this inspiring project check out their site and online store.
