This is Ashish. And Ashish is yum .The collection is mad and quirky and covered in sequins which are hand sewn onto every garment. You probably cant tell from the poor quality snap but this 2011 S/S collection is dripping with sequins. The oversized rugby shirt is covered in them, the cow print skirt is indeed a sea of sequins as are all of the weird and wonderful items in the collection, including that pink gingham all in one number.
Ashish Grupta is the designer behind the sequined delights, hailing from Dehli originally he is known as "The King of Sequins"...a title deservedly given. In his latest collection Ashish has merged cowboy fringing with mc donalds golden arches and of course as many sequins as possible.
I love how he uses sequins as an everyday material, why not have a tshirt made from sparkly little discs. He makes an ordinary tshirt or skirt that little bit more special and different. Why should sequins be reserved for christmas office parties, i think we should wear them all the time.
